Tour Overview

Essential West & Central Safari, is a tour that will take 6 nights,7 days to Lake Manyara National Park, Serengeti National Park, and The Ngorongoro Conservation Area with Luxury/Deluxe level of Accommodation.

Arrival 

On arrival, an Adonai Safari representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the lodge in Arusha City.

Day 1

Arusha – Lake Manyara
Depart from Arusha with a picnic lunch and drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a unique and picturesque park with a stunning lake inspiring views and very varied wildlife and birdlife viewing. Lake Manyara is a shallow alkaline lake that is part of the Rift Valley wall. The lake is at the base of this dramatic western escarpment giving it a beautiful and serene setting. In addition to this peaceful setting, Lake Manyara’s main attractions are its rich birdlife,tree-climbing lions, and its hippos which you can see at a closer range than any other places.

Day 2

Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park
Today we leave Lake Manyara and drive to Serengeti National Park Serengeti via Ngorongoro highlands. There will be an option of visiting Maasai village(extra payment require). The Serengeti is famed for its annual animal migration when some 6 million hooves pound the open plains. You will enjoy a beautiful drive that will take you through stunning scenery.

Day 3

Explore Serengeti National Park
Optional Hot air Balloon safari on this day(extra payment required). After breakfast depart with a picnic lunch for a full day game drive through the Serengeti where breathtaking landscapes, endless plains, and abundant wildlife await you. The Serengeti is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At this time of the year, we explore the Western corridor of the Serengeti nearby the Grumeti River where crocodiles lie awaiting the great migration as wildebeest and other herbivores try to make their way across. Other animals to see in this area include hippos and high concentrations of lions and cheetahs. Enjoy lunch in the middle of Serengeti and later drive back to the lodge.

Day 4

Explore Serengeti National Park
Today is another full day of wildlife viewing through the Western Corridor of the Serengeti. We will try to spot animals we have yet to see and we continue to drive through stunning wide-open spaces that make the Serengeti so unforgettable. The Serengeti’s endless plains provide an exceptional landscape for wildlife viewing, it truly is the ultimate safari country. Often spotted in the Serengeti are elephants, hippos, lions, zebras, wildebeests, cheetahs, leopards, and more.

Day 5

Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast leaves the Serengeti and drives to Ngorongoro passing some very scenic landscapes. En route to the Ngorongoro crater rim, we stop by Olduvai Gorge museum, a world-renowned archeological site that has been called the “Cradle of Mankind”.

Day 6

Explore Ngorongoro Crater
Enjoy a full day of game viewing inside the Ngorongoro Crater floor. The eighth wonders of the world, the crater won’t fail to take your breath away as you stand on the rim looking down a 10-mile wide crater floor with abundant wildlife. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken volcanic caldera in the world covering approximately 304 sq km with walls rising 610 meters from the crater floor. Before the Ngorongoro Volcano exploded and collapsed 2 million years ago, it was one of the world’s tallest mountain in Africa. Now, it is home to more than 30,000 large mammals; mainly gazelle, buffalo, wildebeests, hartebeest, and warthog. It has the highest predator density in the world. Enjoy picnic lunch at Ngoitoktok picnic site and later ascend to the lodge.

Day 7

Drive back to Arusha
After breakfast, we leave for Arusha via Mto Wa Mbu Maasai Market for some shopping(Optional).

 

END OF TOUR

FLYBACK OPTION
Please note that this Safari can also be booked with an option to fly back to Arusha on your last day. You might want to consider this option if you need to fly out of Arusha. If you select a “flyback” option for this Safari, you will follow the same circuit as described above, with the difference being that your safari ends in the Serengeti from where your flight will depart.
